QuickSCRIPTS is a series of four ten-minute plays, put together in the span of 72 hours by student and community volunteers who are in charge of the direction and performance of plays written by volunteer playwrights. The playwrights themselves only have 24 hours to write their scripts and must incorporate a prompt submitted by an NC State community member and selected by the University Theatre. Joshua Reaves, director of University Theatre, said that QuickSCRIPTS was a way to encourage student and community involvement in University Theatre by giving individuals the ability to explore more aspects of the theater-making process and break barriers to entry, such as time constraints.
