It's not the pressure.
A front drops the pressure by a whisker. A carp feels a bigger change swimming down a few feet than the weather ever gives it, so I don't stake a session on a number off an app. What matters is what travels with the weather, and you can see all of it. The wind pushes the food, pumps oxygen in where it hits the bank and moves the warm water, so a fresh warm wind means fish the end it's blowing into, and a cold one means look off it. The cloud takes the glare off the water. The warm air lifts the water and their feeding with it. Some of my best sessions have come on the front of bad weather, and the bright flat spell after it is when they go lazy and sit up in the water doing nothing.
Save this for the next front.
