You only get two lifts. That is the whole photo shoot.
Rehearse it with no fish before the rods go out. Lift one square on: kneel low, fish level across your forearms, focus on the near eye, and shoot a burst instead of one frame. Fish down, water over it. Lift two turned slightly, head nearest the lens, which shows the shoulders a flat photo hides.
The details go in the pause while the fish rests and rewets. Scales, tail, the line of the mouth. Then it goes straight back, before you look at a single frame.
Two lifts, water between, and the fish never pays for your photograph.
