I sat down recently and had a long informal chat with 321gomd . He’s been the lead ortho at most major CrossFit competitions as long as I’ve been competing and unfortunately he’s seen a lot of me over the years 😂. Dr. Rockett is the one who cleared me to compete when I tore my bicep back in 2016. In some ways perhaps I owe him my career, and he’s happy to tell me 😉. He was also one of the first to reach out to help after tearing my Achilles a few weeks ago. I’ve been both a provider and a patient/athlete over the years and I know first hand that sometimes athletes done make the best patients 😅. We talked about the nuance and challenges of patient relationships and dealing with athletes, how to build trust, and shared some fun stories from over the years.
