I filmed this video last week, the day before my birthday. This birthday had me reflecting on my life. A LOT. On the younger versions of me who had absolutely no idea what was coming. She didn’t know about the heartbreaks she would survive. The mistakes she would make. The things she would lose, outgrow, walk away from and have to rebuild. But she also had no idea how GOOD it would get. She didn’t know about the business she would build. The work that would take her around the world. The books she would write. The people she would help. She didn’t know about the friendships that would become family. She didn’t know she would find a love that felt safe, expansive and deeply fun. She didn’t know how many times life would surprise her. And looking back now, I can see how so many of the things I once wished hadn’t happened became part of the path to a life I wouldn’t trade.
