When something isn’t working with our horses, the instinct can be to change to a stronger bit or add a training gadget. But according to trainer Geoff Teall, more isn’t always the answer. A horse that feels heavy in your hand may actually need better balance and engagement. A horse that seems to need endless schooling may benefit more from shorter, purposeful sessions.
