The baseball world is buzzing about PCA potentially putting together a 40/40 season, and for good reason. The combination of 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases is incredibly rare, and it would put him in some elite company.
But Ronald Acuña Jr. took it to another level in 2023. He finished with 41 home runs and an insane 73 stolen bases, becoming the first player in MLB history to reach 40/70. That season was basically baseball on cheat mode.
So yeah, a potential 40/40 season from PCA is special. But Acuña’s 40/70 season? That’s a whole different level of ridiculous — and one that may be very hard to ever top. Do you think we’ll ever see another 40/70 season? Let me know.
