8 years ago today, DJ Snake, Selena Gomez, Cardi B and Ozuna released ‘Taki Taki.’ DJ Snake set out to make a proper reggaeton club record, and recruited Ozuna first, fresh off winning Top Latin Artist at the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards. He produced 'Taki Taki' alongside STANY, with a writing team that also included Selena Gomez and Cardi B, before it arrived through Geffen and Interscope as the second single from his second studio album, 'Carte Blanche.' Cardi B first confirmed the project that July without naming her collaborators, and after Ozuna revealed the title on Instagram, DJ Snake announced the release date and cover art that September.
