For eM Pellerin (emclimber), Heavy Fuel (5.13c PG-13) was less a leap than an evolution.   Thirteen pitches long when exiting via Freeway and loaded with demanding, runout climbing, Heavy Fuel has earned its reputation as a modern trad testpiece in Squamish. From when she first started climbing in Squamish in 2008, to her historic onsight of The Shadow (5.13a) in 2018, eM has found that every season here brings her a little closer to realizing what she’s capable of.   On September 12, with Ian Cooper, she went for Heavy Fuel.
