THE ILLUSION OF CONNECTION
We were told social media would bring us closer.
That we would be more connected than ever before.
That we could communicate with anyone, anywhere, at any time.
And yet , we have never felt more disconnected.
We scroll through thousands of faces, but barely look into the eyes of the people sitting next to us.
We have hundreds of followers, but sometimes nobody to call when life gets heavy.
We watch other people's lives instead of experiencing our own.
And somewhere along the way, we started confusing access with connection.
The system doesn't need to lock us in a room to isolate us.
It can simply give us a screen.
A screen that constantly tells us:
You should look better.
You should make more money.
You should travel more.
You should have a better body.
You should be happier.
You should have a better relationship.
You should be more successful.
