Dressed in stained glass 🍃✨ Meet Cyerce katiae, Kati’s butterfly sea slug. Until 2025 it didn’t even have a proper name and was just “Cyerce sp. 4.” Now it’s officially described, named after Kati Eschweiler, a dive resort owner in Romblon, Philippines. A reminder that divers and resorts still help put new species on the map. 🌏 Those ruffled “leaves” are cerata, and that fine black geometric pattern with gold dots makes it look like a tiny lantern lit from inside. 📍 Romblon, Philippines 📷 Sony A7R V | Sony FE 100mm F2.8 STF GM | Nauticam SMC-3 | Seafrog housing seafrogs_official #cyercekatiae #butterflyseaslug #macrophotography #underwatermacro #underwaterphotography
