Shabana Mahmood has suggested she will water down indefinite leave to remain reforms amid her ongoing row with Angela Rayner.
After the Home Secretary announced a sweeping set of reforms to make it harder to acquire ILR, she faced furious backlash from her own party - spearheaded by Ms Rayner.
Today, Ms Mahmood has appeared to buckle to growing demand within her party to ease up on the application of the asylum crackdown.
She said: "I know that, throughout our consultation process, some have said elements of these reforms are not fair.
"To that, let me say this. We will come to a position that balances fairness for those who came here legally, and fairness to British citizens across this country".
