Best Gen? š„ The C6 Corvette might have one of the strongest cases for being the greatest Corvette generation ever.
Built from 2005 through 2013, the C6 kept the classic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive formula while making the Corvette smaller, lighter and significantly more capable.
The standard car evolved from the 400-horsepower LS2 to the 430-horsepower LS3, giving even the base Corvette serious performance.
Then came the Z06 with its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter LS7 making 505 horsepower, an aluminum frame and extensive use of lightweight materials.
At the top sat the ZR1, packing a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 with 638 horsepower and a top speed beyond 200 mph.
Between the unmistakable four-round taillights, huge V8s, manual transmissions and relatively raw driving experience, the C6 became one of the defining American performance cars of its era.
Is the C6 actually the greatest Corvette generation ever?
