๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ In 2017, BMW driving instructor Johan Schwartz set out to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance drifted in eight hours using the then-new F90 M5. Stopping for fuel would have ended the continuous drift, so BMW and Detroit Speed developed a custom dry-break refueling system that allowed the M5 to be filled while both cars were still sliding. A second BMW M5 matched the record carโ€™s drift while Matt Butts leaned out of its rear window on a safety tether and connected the fuel line between the moving cars. The maneuver had to be performed five separate times during the eight-hour attempt. Schwartz ultimately drifted continuously for 232.5 miles, or 374.2 kilometers, beating the previous record by an incredible 143 miles. BMW even set a second record that day when two M5s drifted together for 49.25 miles over the course of one hour. Would you trust yourself to refuel a car while BOTH vehicles are drifting? What are your thoughts? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ ( Media: BMW USA ) #b...
