Some people leave behind more than songs… they leave a blueprint for what it looks like to use your life to pour into others. Today New Orleans was flooded with pink, blonde wigs and love as Mayor Helena Moreno celebrated Dolly Day with the Krewe of Dolly. I always knew Dolly was iconic, but I didn’t understand the depth of her giving until after her passing… the Imagination Library, her support of Black communities, and the millions she gave to help others. That part has stayed with me. It made today feel bigger than a celebration. It was a reminder that impact matters, generosity matters, and we have to give people their flowers while they can still smell them.
