The most exhausted woman in the room is usually the one smiling the most. She rereads every email three times before she sends her reply through Claude 18.5 times. She says “sorry” for things that were never her fault and shows up every day anyway. Then when someone asks how she’s doing, she says, “Busy, but good! with a smile on her face in the Zoom room. She’s not weak. She’s just been generous with the wrong currency. Every yes she didn’t mean. Every favor she couldn’t afford. Every “no worries!” when she was disappointed by people……again. It all gets paid for with the same thing. Her energy.
