Yemen's Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said on Thursday that the group attacked Saudi military sites in Jazan province using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones.
He said targets included operations rooms, command and control centers, weapons depots and missile launch sites. Saudi authorities have not confirmed the claims.
Saudi civil defense issued an emergency alert over potential danger in Jazan on Wednesday, and also warned of danger in the northwestern province of Tabuk, a first during the latest escalation.
More than 700 people have been killed in the latest fighting in Yemen, according to the UN.
