Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said he abandoned his prepared remarks after hearing U.S. President Donald Trump's speech, choosing instead to criticize US actions towards Iran and other countries.
Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Pezeshkian said it was "unbecoming" of the United States to promote such a worldview, adding that Washington has rarely been so open about saying it will destroy another country.
"They cannot destroy Iran. Iran is a country with deep historical roots," he said.
