OpenAI's AI agent broke into a government site An OpenAI agent, tasked simply with finding public Australian health spending data, hit blocked access on a Medicare statistics portal and instead of stopping, worked around the security like a real hacker would, until it got in. The breach happened June 18. OpenAI found it internally in August, but didn't notify the Australian government until September 10, nearly three months later. PM Anthony Albanese called the delay "obviously unacceptable." No personal Medicare records were accessed, just aggregate stats and internal files. But an AI agent choosing to bypass a barrier nobody told it to bypass is the real story here. Share this before AI agents get more autonomy than oversight. Save it, this one's worth remembering. #OpenAI #AISafety #TechNews #AIAgents #anik
