Reactive Velocity Today’s training was built entirely around velocity, not force. Your force plate data can tell you which one you need more of. If your peak force numbers are strong but your jump height and time to takeoff aren’t matching that force output, you don’t have a strength problem, you have a velocity problem. More heavy squatting won’t fix that. What fixes it is training your body to move lighter loads as fast as physically possible. So today we hit jump squats at 20 to 30% of your 1RM. Band assisted jumps to expose your nervous system to speeds it can’t produce on its own yet. A loaded rep straight into an unloaded rep, so your body has to shift gears instantly. Bounds for horizontal power. Med ball throws for speed strength through the upper body and core. None of this is about how much weight is on the bar. It’s about how fast you can move what’s there. #athletictrainer #sportsmedicine #sportscience #forceplates #data
