Hiring more sales reps won't fix a retention problem.
Many founders treat recruiting as the fix for slow sales. When revenue stalls, they post another job ad and bring in another round of reps.
Then those reps leave before they ever produce, and the cycle starts over.
The problem usually isn't recruiting. It's what happens after the hire.
You don't build a commission-based sales team just to have people on the roster. You build it for revenue, and revenue only comes from reps who stay long enough to produce.
Without systems that retain reps and turn them into producers, every new hire is effort with no return. Retention drives production, and production is the whole point.
Before your next hire, look at the last five reps who left. For each one, write down the week they quit and what they didn't have yet: training, a clear first-30-day target, or consistent management.
