🔔 OYEZ! OYEZ! A ROYAL WELCOME! 🇨🇦👑 What a pleasure to be welcomed by the legendary John Webster, Markham's town crier since 1987, as we waved at the Youth Global event , Toronto. John has spent decades keeping Canada's civic traditions alive and even had the honour of introducing Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during a royal visit to Toronto. He shared a wonderful story with me: after a lifetime of proclaiming “God Save the Queen,” it took him a while to get used to saying “God Save the King” following Queen Elizabeth II's passing! From Queen Elizabeth II to King Charles III, John has witnessed a remarkable chapter of Canadian history. Thank you for the warm welcome, John. Long live the town crier! 🔔🇨🇦 #JohnWebster #TownCrier #Toronto EtobicokeNorth
