For the first time in history, Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes is welcoming Chicano artists and celebrating Chicano identity and culture.
Its latest exhibition, “AztLÁn: Túnel del Tiempo,” features over 30 artists of mainly Mexican descent and examines the connection between Mexico and its diaspora in the U.S., particularly in Los Angeles.
The exhibition is on display through Sept. 27 and marks the first time that a major Mexican cultural institution features Chicano art.
