Meet Medphyll: the Green Lantern who is literally a sentient plant.
His planet doubts he can handle the job, but when Swamp Thing’s consciousness crashes into a crowd and absorbs people into one terrifying body, Medphyll refuses to take the easy way out. Instead of destroying the creature and everyone trapped inside it, he targets its mind with a strobing pattern, dismantles the body, and pulls the victims out alive.
Then the story gets complicated. After his teacher Jothra dies, Medphyll offers Jothra’s body as a host—not purely out of nobility, but because he wants more time beside his friend. The result is heroic, unsettling, and impossible to file neatly as either good or evil.
Does Medphyll’s selfish motive take away from the lives he saved?
