West Orange Public Schools celebrated the relocation of the Betty Maddalena Early Learning Center with a ribbon cutting at its new home on the campus of Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. BMELC serves our youngest learners, ages 3–5, in a full-day preschool setting and is home to the district’s Preschool Disabilities Program, providing supportive and inclusive learning opportunities designed around the needs of each child. The center proudly carries the name of Betty Maddalena, a beloved special education teacher who spent 26 years serving West Orange students during her 33-year career in education. Known for her advocacy, compassion and commitment to helping every student grow, Betty’s legacy continues through the children and educators who now walk through these doors each day. #WOPride
