This conversation goes far beyond one case. 💔 Research has found concerning rates of sexual victimization among autistic women, with some studies also finding increased vulnerability among girls and women with ADHD. This is why parents need to talk to their neurodivergent children about consent, coercion, manipulation, boundaries, and what sexual assault can actually look like. Not because it is their responsibility to prevent someone from assaulting them. The responsibility ALWAYS belongs to the person who commits the assault. And if you have experienced sexual assault yourself, you are not alone. 🩷 What happened to you does not define who you are, and it was not your fault. We need more education. More conversations about consent. More support for survivors. And a world where victims aren’t asked what they could have done differently. Please keep talking about this.
