When yarn speaks louder than words 😆🧶 A post reshared by womensart highlights a visual experiment by Mayor Sue Montgomery during City Council meetings. To track airtime in the chamber, she knitted red yarn when a man spoke and green when a woman spoke. Despite near-equal representation in the room (31 women and 34 men), her resulting scarf was overwhelmingly red. Sue did make a later point that she felt the women in the group got just as much across - just more succinctly! 😅 But it’s a reminder that having a “seat at the table” does not always guarantee an equal share of voice or influence.
