Andrew Painter found himself in an unfamiliar role Wednesday in Atlanta: late-inning reliever — and all he did was toss three scoreless innings to keep the Phillies alive. Painter, whose rookie season saw a midsummer demotion to Triple-A, was summoned by Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly in the 8th inning of a 3-3 game. The hard-throwing righty kept the Braves scoreless, finishing with three strikeouts in three innings. Mattingly spoke about the 23-year-old's performance after the Phillies beat the Braves, 4-3, in 10 innings to force a Game 3. #phillies #andrewpainter #braves #baseball #philadelphia
