Dreams Made Here ✨: Disney Legend and Distinguished Alumnus Tony Baxter ’69 brought some of the most popular theme park rides to life. He co-designed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, developed Star Tours alongside George Lucas and led a team of 100 Imagineers in creating Indiana Jones Adventure. Reflecting on his accomplishments, Baxter thanked those who helped him get there. One was late CSULB professor Maxine Merlino, who required her students to master perspective, draftsmanship and classical techniques. Over the decades, he consistently relied on the art skills that he learned at The Beach.
