COMO Mahjong, an organization that teaches clients how to play mahjong and holds events to play, hosted their first-ever fundraising event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Hope on the Table took place Sunday, Sept. 20, and raised more than $4,000. Lauren Crosby, the founder and owner of COMO Mahjong, explained why an event like this matters. “We don't do a lot of fundraisers like this,” Crosby said. “So I thought, ‘Let's just do something fun and different and like test it out and see how it goes.’” This event brought together local Columbia members both through their love of mahjong and giving back to the community.
