Two earthquakes shook under Mt. Hood National Forest on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.
The first was recorded at a 3.0 magnitude at 2:35 p.m. about 46 miles east-southeast of Portland and four miles from Government Camp.
A minute later and miles away, a second earthquake with 2.6 magnitude was detected closer to the Oregon/Washington border and deeper under the surface — about 1.88 miles to be exact.
