Emergency personnel suspended the active search Saturday night for a man who reportedly entered the water at Robert Moses State Park and did not come out during the ongoing nor'easter, authorities said. The search-and-rescue operation was initiated near the Field #3 area after it was reported around 2:30 p.m. that a white male wearing dark colored shorts entered the ocean, disappeared from view and was not seen exiting, according to New York State Police and state park police. The man's identity remains unknown. Swimming is prohibited at the park in the off season. Officials are urging people to stay away from the water and exercise caution during the storm.
