Ole Miss built an early cushion in the first set, with Johnson and Crook combining for seven kills to help the Rebels take a 12-9 lead, and a Keirstyn Carlton kill pushed the margin to 15-12 at the media timeout. Alabama never found an answer the rest of the way, as Ole Miss closed the set on a dominant run to win it. The second set followed a similar script: Ole Miss jumped out 6-2, weathered an Alabama run, and settled back in to keep the Crimson Tide at arm's length, closing it out while holding Alabama to a -.065 hitting percentage in the frame.
