#TSRCoinz: Half a million dollars for promo, but most of it allegedly never got spent?! đź‘€
#Roomies,
#TheGame’s independent label, 100 Entertainment, is taking UMG and Virgin Music Group to court over the rollout of his 2022 album, “Drillmatic: Heart vs. Mind.”
According to Billboard, the lawsuit alleges only about $179K of an agreed-upon $500K marketing budget was spent, leaving more than $300K unused. That includes an alleged ZERO dollars spent from the $125K allocated for radio promotion. His label also claims it covered part of the “Stupid” music video featuring Big Sean and hasn’t been reimbursed.
While “Drillmatic” debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200, the label argues the reduced promotion hurt sales and streaming revenue and is seeking at least $500K in damages. According to the complaint, UMG and Virgin have denied breaching the contract agreement.
