A submerged car. A driver speaking with a first responder. This footage from KTAR’s Colton Krolak shows the dangerous conditions facing drivers as powerful thunderstorms brought flooding to the Phoenix area Tuesday morning. Heavy rain left Valley roads slick and some impassable, creating a hazardous morning commute. Flooding swept away two vehicles in New River, while storms also triggered a ground delay at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The National Weather Service expected storms to continue through midmorning, with heavy downpours potentially reducing visibility. Much of Arizona is under a flood watch Tuesday, and a flash flood warning covers the Cave Creek area until 9:30 a.m. Keep up with Phoenix weather and road conditions before heading out. Never drive through a flooded roadway. #PhoenixWeather #ArizonaWeather #Flooding
