Growing up as a blind person, I always thought a mini ramp was the easiest thing to map out and skate. So I stuck to that for years and years, and I never thought I would be able to do anything else until I met other blind skaters who taught me different techniques and opened up a whole world of street skating and street style. They took the time to put my hands on them while they landed or set up tricks and my feet on the board and to let me hear how things sounded when they landed. But the mini ramp holds a special place in my heart, because it’s where I started.
