#SustainabilitySunday is back as we prep for the season! 🌎 Last week, Louis and Blair talked about how our snowmaking system works, but what about its impact? Tune in to hear Mike & Helena break it down👉 🌱We aim to keep the impact of our ski area on the local environment as small as possible. ⚡While our snowmaking system is energy efficient, it still uses power. But as of 2023, A-Basin is powered by 100% renewable electricity, including all our lifts, buildings, and our snow guns. 🏔️ Snowmaking is a non-consumptive use of water, with roughly 80-85% returning to the Snake River as snowmelt in the spring. The mountain acts as a time-release reservoir; our snow holds onto that water throughout the winter, then it makes its way right back into the river when it melts away in the spring!
