Less training doesn’t mean less attention to fueling. 🍽️ For Day 4 of Mental Wellness Empowerment Week, sports dietitian Amy Goodson, MS, RD, CSSD, LD, founder of The Sports Nutrition Playbook, answers a common question from athletes: Do I still need as much protein when I’m not training as much? Whether you’re in the offseason, taking time to rest and recover, traveling or simply spending less time at practice and in the weight room, Amy encourages athletes to stay consistent with their nutrition. Including protein at each meal and snack can help maintain lean muscle mass while also helping you feel full and satisfied throughout the day. Pair it with carbohydrates to continue giving your body the nutrients and energy it needs. Rest is part of being an athlete. Fueling is, too. #OwnYourStory
