A Des Moines Public Schools teacher was recently awarded a $75,000 grant from Harbor Freight Tools. Des Moines Central Campus welding teacher Chad Donahue was surprised with a $75,000 award on Sept. 29 during a ceremony in the school's multipurpose room. Dozens of current and former students, family members, district colleagues, Harbor Freight Tools representatives and staff from the offices of Iowa's congressional delegation were present. Donahue was one of just 25 skilled trades teachers nationwide selected from a pool of more than 550 applicants.
