Valley West Mall in West Des Moines has a new owner after four years of being in receivership. But the closing of the sale announced Tuesday, Sept. 29, does not definitively determine the future of the Valley West property. The city and new owner must go through the development process again, and the owner is challenging tenant JCPenney's lease in court. Even so, Brian Martin, president of West Des Moines' Threshold Capital, the mall's new owner as of Monday, Sept. 28, said in a news release announcing the sale, "I’m committed to seeing this through."
