Today, the Barrie Colts recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As a team that calls the shores of Lake Simcoe home, we acknowledge that this land is the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat and later the Anishinaabeg, including the Ojibwe, Odawa and Pottawatomi of the Three Fires Confederacy, as well as historic Métis communities. We honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools. We encourage our community to pause, reflect, listen and learn as we continue the journey toward truth and reconciliation 🧡 #TruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters
