Making his 28th start in Friday’s GII Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland, fan-favorite NAKATOMI - a 7-year-old gelding trained by Wesley Ward - successfully defended his title while securing the fourth stakes victory of his career. A horse that has not only traveled nationally but also internationally, Nakatomi holds a record of eight wins, four seconds, and seven thirds with $2,297,426 earned over six seasons ✨ The key to his success? Wesley Ward attributes that to his winter vacations on the farm. Each year, the gelding is turned out at Hunter Valley Farm in Versailles, Kentucky where Elle-Marie, daughter of Qatar Racing’s Fergus Galvin, spends time grooming and riding the veteran racehorse. She was there Friday to greet her friend in the winner’s circle ❤️ . . . #horse #horselove #thoroughbred #lexington #kentucky
