In Focus: Gabriel Orozco’s ‘La DS (Cornaline)’ (2013) ✨
In Gabriel Orozco’s iconic sculpture ‘La DS (Cornaline)’ (2013), a classic, cornaline-red Citroën DS car has been spliced and re-joined, rendering the vehicle a single-seater.
First realised in 1993, Orozco’s spaceship-like sculpture is brought into a new context in ‘Chronotopic’, in keeping with the exhibition’s wider themes of time and space.
As the exhibition’s curator Briony Fer notes, ‘Seen through this chronotopic lens, Orozco’s work presents a series of questions rather than definitive answers and solutions: How does time enter the artwork? Can art be a form of time-travel?’
📍 ‘Gabriel Orozco: Chronotopic’ is on view until 8 November 2026 at White Cube Bermondsey.
