Tennis Ball Review: Wilson Championship XD Ball This ball wasn’t that good. The bounce test came in at 26 inches (~66cm) before and 27 inches (~68.5 cm) after playing for 2.5 hours. This is weird as almost every ball I have tested has lost bounce over time. I was impressed with the consistency of the weight of each ball. All came in at 58g. Straight out of the can these balls were erratic. It was very hard to rally with… everyone was quietly complaining and I eventually had it open a can of US Open balls. After cutting them open, the quality of the rubber felt cheap. This was the quickest I have ever cut thru a ball. It felt soft.. maybe that has something to do with the bounce becoming more bouncy… idk. The weirdest part was the white dust stuff covering the inside of the rubber.
