A Mesa family says a hospital released their husband and father’s body to a funeral home they never selected, and by the time they figured out where he was, he had already been embalmed. Raymond Wood Jr., 54, passed away July 9 at HonorHealth Four Peaks Medical Center. His wife of 32 years, Leslie, says the family contacted several mortuaries before deciding where they wanted him taken. When Leslie called the hospital to coordinate the transfer, she says she was initially told they didn’t know where her husband’s body was. She later learned Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services had already picked him up, even though the family says they never chose that funeral home.
