Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks has been charged with misdemeanor DUI in Arizona over his March arrest in Scottsdale.
Court records show prosecutors filed the complaint in Scottsdale City Court on Monday. Brooks was arrested on suspicion of DUI around 1 a.m. on March 6 near Thunderbird and Scottsdale roads. A breathalyzer came back at zero percent, and he was released pending blood test results. His next court date is Oct. 28.
The charge comes weeks after Brooks signed a three-year, $73 million contract extension with the Suns. In a statement, the team said the charge stems from the incident last March, that it has addressed the matter with Brooks and that it has no further comment.
Brooks also has a separate misdemeanor reckless driving and speeding case from January in the Scottsdale court system. A trial readiness conference is set for Nov. 9.
