Large-scale portraiture never ceases to fascinate me - not merely for its sheer magnitude, but for its power to fundamentally alter our perception of architectural volume and purpose. When a human face is superimposed onto a structural glass façade, the material loses its primary function as a passive divider between interior and exterior; it becomes a dynamic medium for human resonance.
For L’ESPOIR (Grenoble, 2021), the young boy’s upward gaze disrupts the rigid geometry of the building, turning an institutional footprint into a monumental statement on social equity and universal access to education. For me, the true magic of site-specific intervention lies precisely in this intersection - where scale, spatial design, and material permanence converge to give a urgent human message a permanent, unmissable voice.
