Next week, I‘m headed to BeijingDangdaiArtFair with CarteBlancheWinland, where I will be presenting two works created during my recent time in Hangzhou, both representing an important step in the evolution of my practice.
The first is a portrait of Shennong (神農), the Divine Farmer and legendary emperor in Chinese mythology, executed during a live performance in Hangzhou through my process of impact-based image creation.
Alongside it, I’ll be showing my first abstract triptych again. Even though abstraction may seem like a new direction, it has actually been present in my mind for a long time. The fragmentation, tension, and energy within the shattered glass have always carried a rhythmic language beneath the image itself. This work finally allows that language to come fully to the surface.
Showing these works together feels very personal to me. It opens a new dialogue within my practice between representation and emotion, precision and freedom, control and release.
