At westbundartfair this year, I presented a new abstract work that extends my exploration of impact, light, and the thresholds of perception. Developed slowly on location in China, the piece emerged from repeated encounters with the material - a process of finding clarity inside distortion and rhythm inside fracture.
Instead of referencing the figure, this work drifts into a more spacious visual field. Surfaces pulse between opacity and brightness; lines appear only to break apart again. It’s a composition built from tension, pauses, and the quiet persistence of the medium itself.
This friction opened a new way of seeing the work - less as an object and more as an atmosphere.
