NC State football had yet another underwhelming performance, this time against Appalachian State. Appalachian State (3-1) hasn’t met the Wolfpack (2-2, 0-1 ACC) since 2006, and certainly gave the Pack’s six game win-streak against the program a scare. Even though App State trailed by 21 late in the first quarter, it gave itself a fighting chance by exposing the Wolfpacks’ lackluster defense. The Mountaineers tied the score at 31 with just under 10 minutes to play before NC State pulled away to win 41-31. During crunch time, all eyes turned to Bailey and junior running back Jayden “Duke” Scott, and they delivered. To seal the game, the Pack drove the field in nine plays, with Bailey starting it off with a 19-yard dot to junior wide receiver Keenan Jackson.
